Jennifer Lopez deflects question about Ben Affleck in TV interview

Jennifer Lopez dodged a question regarding her rekindled romance with Ben Affleck.

During an appearance on the US Today show on Tuesday, the singer promoted the re-release of her song ‘Love Make the World Go Round’ with Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Lopez was put on the spot when asked about her relationship after Today host Hoda Kotb said she seemed “happier.”

“I need to have a little girl talk with my girl, just a little. You look happy,” Kotb, 56, said. “Look, I’ve known you for years… You look happier.”

Lopez, 51, replied that she is “always happy when you see me, Hoda.”

“Every time I see a picture of you and Ben, I’m like, ‘She looks happier! She looks happier!’ Are we happier?” Kotb added.

Lopez paused, before changing the subject. “The song is out,” she said. “Five years since we’ve done it and I believe that that message of loving one another and coming together and love is never more relevant than it is right now.”

Kotb noted, “Wait, it’s me you’re talking to, you know that?” to which J.Lo replied, “I know, you can call me. You have my number.”

Earlier this month, Lopez seemingly addressed her relationship with Affleck, 48, in an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. The singer said she finally “got to a point in my life where I really felt good on my own”.

“I’m good. I love my life right now. I love what I’m doing. I love where I’m at. I love the person that I am continually kind of evolving into and becoming,” she said. “And that kind of joy, that kind of happiness, that kind of love always inspires me.”

J.Lo and Affleck were first thought to be rekindling their romance in April, after the songstress’ split from ex-fiancé Alex Rodriguez.

They previously dated from 2002 to 2004, and were planning a wedding in 2003, which was postponed just days before the ceremony.
