Obsessed Taylor Swift fan ploughs car into her New York home in attempt to contact the pop star
An obsessed Taylor Swift fan has been arrested after ploughing his car into the singer’s New York City apartment building.
The man was taken into custody after allegedly driving the wrong way down Swift’s street, reversing into the building and hitting a fire hydrant, before attempting to rip an intercom off the wall.
According to TMZ, the suspect had been “mumbling” about the Red singer when he got out of the car and was swiftly arrested after bystander called the police.
He allegedly told officers he refused to leave unless he spoke to Swift.
The publication states the man is facing charges for criminal mischief and DWI as he was reportedly under the influence of alcohol. He was also sent to the hospital for psychiatric evaluation.
It remains unclear if Swift, 32, was in her home at the time of the incident.
The Grammy Award-winning star has been the victim of repeat attempted break-ins and obsessed stalkers in the past.
In August last year, a different man was busted trying to break into Swift’s NYC apartment and later professed his love for her in court.
Another obsessed fan was arrested in 2019 after attempting to enter Swift’s mansion in Rhode Island and in 2018, Page Six reported a man had broken into her townhouse and took a shower before sleeping in one of her beds.
And in 2016, a man was taken into custody after tailing the singer’s vehicle while she was being driven to the airport in Texas.
